Today we have a band member, a player, AND a referee dying or worse in-game. Whether you're on your way to school, or already at school, in the band, or in Kalamazoo, it's TROME.
LOL 🤣 Those damn HIPS conspiracies just refuse to die! I doubt that anything I ever did will help you survive but I enjoyed the sentiment and new acronym! ♥️ Can't wait to see what you publish! You're a great writer - I love your style, wit and informal prose.
I think we should continue this; liking each others comments like a ping pong match. It'll be like a daily dose of vitamin L.
Seriously Zoë, I've seen your comments graffitied on the walls down in Substackville, and you are always complimentary to people. That matters a lot. I can see how stressed and fearful people are even in their comments now. Its gotten bad in some of these spaces. In the span of two weeks people that were somewhat civil are word-shanking each other and using terms like "true colors". It's why I hang out at C Rabbits. He;'s like an old school journo; types out sardonic truths and bounces. I dig it.
Thanks for the positive pressure too. I'm not a writer, I just wanted to lay down down anonymous anecdotes about waking up in a pod, unplugging myself a long while back, and the things I've seen along the way. Just haven't hit send yet.
There was a game of sorts back when, called "The Sims" that allows players to create and dress characters called "Sims", build and furnish houses for them, and simulate their everyday lives. Apparently it was really popular and the new version has built up whole societies. Substack feels a bit like that. I follow a few and visit them on occasion. I see some people (avatars) that I recognize. Some of them have fervent followers that are truly committed to the words cast out weekly or even daily. I've seen you around and thought: Hey there's Chad...what up Chad? Some throw out current fresh provocative topics and create comment frenzy's, that then generate likes and replies and everyone gets a bit of a dopamine hit. It's not virtual reality and not Sims with new hairstyles but it seems like a slow creep to it. I write this because I appreciate what and how you have chosen to express what you see as important. Not too much, but enough to make a consistent point with personal details attached to some like film Easter eggs. If ever you do a low profile tee, I'm down. Forgive me for not knowing....TROME??
Damn! Another HIPS conspiracy!!!
Hidden In Plain Sight.
If I survive my SS rookie season, it will be because of you Zoë!

Have you considered dropping some prose yourself?
