The Rise of the Medical Emergency, Pt. 78 - Aug 18th Reports
Being old, being young, being rescued from a sinking car or bitten by dogs, driving on the freeway, working on the scaffolding, or trying to take the train, there's always more to it in TROME
1) John Barrowman Updates On Hospitalized Mother & Sick Father
‘Sadly, John Barrowman broke the news this week that he would be pulling out of the Geek’d Con this weekend in Louisiana due to a family medical emergency. He explained to his followers his mother, Marion, had been hospitalized. She was in the ICU and she wasn’t doing well. So, he made the decision to pull out of the convention and rush to her bedside.’ [Emphasis added]
So, what happened? It’s not quite clear. But the videos added together with the text of the Instagram post one of the videos is from tells us quite a bit. If you watch it in fullscreen then you can read the post.
We find out from the text of the post that his parents both have covid, and the result is his father is in isolation! Now that’s a bummer. He also talks about “the infection,” and also about the “thing in her leg going up to the pace maker.” He also talks about attending her bedside with his father.’ [Emphasis added]
This hospital sounds pretty anxious about covid, and I’m wondering if this covid test was the first one they took. If it is, then that certainly tells us she wasn’t presenting with symptoms the doctors associated with covid when she was admitted. If they thought she had covid, and they isolate covid patients, then, I think, they would have tested her immediately and known the result within minutes.
‘Biting his lip before he starts to speak, John took to Instagram in the past 24 hours with another update on his mother. He happily tells fans his mother is not in the ICU anymore. Moreover, she’s also consumed her first food in four days. He adds that she is still fighting an infection. But, the medication seems to be working and the situation is far less critical. John Barrowman concluded his video by telling his followers he believed they were on their way up with this situation now.
In the caption attached to the video, he revealed that his mother had COVID. Sadly, his father also ended up testing positive for COVID and was placed in isolation. He added a second video to the post explaining that both he and his husband also got tested. They tested negative. Fortunately, no one else in the family has tested positive.’ [Emphasis added]
So right now the problem is “the infection,” probably something having to do with “the pace maker,” and now covid, and maybe something else. Who knows? It’s TROME.
Regular vaccine TROME.
2) ‘Scariest 30 min of my life’: Baby Mahomes rushed to emergency room
Source: uppermichiganssource.com
‘Brittany posted on Instagram saying, “We took a very scary and frantic trip to the ER yesterday after finding out this guy is highly highly allergic to peanuts.”
She went on to say, “The scariest 30 min of my life.”’
Well, if it was the 1980’s, then they might have found out about the child’s allergies by taking her on a plane trip, where the friendly airline would have given her, and everybody else, a complimentary bag of peanuts.
I used to love those when I was a kid.
Highlight of any plane trip.
‘As many as one in 13 children are affected by food allergies, and Shroba says the numbers continue to rise.’ [Emphasis added]
Thanks, doc.
3) Woman rescued after car sinks in Lauderhill lake, firefighters say
‘A rescue diver saved a woman from her car that sank in a Lauderhill residential lake Friday morning, according to the city’s fire-rescue department.
The woman, who has not been named, lost control of her car before it went in the the lake off Inverrary Drive, said Deputy Chief Jeff Levy, spokesman for Lauderhill Fire-Rescue.
Firefighters believed she suffered a medical emergency before losing control of the vehicle, Levy said.
Bystanders initially jumped into the water to try to rescue her before rescue crews arrived, Levy said.
A rescue diver got to the car to free her, he said. Paramedics took the woman to Florida Medical Center in Lauderdale Lakes where she was in stable condition as of early Friday afternoon, Levy said.’ [Emphasis added]
What a scene. After reading about that high school-aged lifeguard that swam out to pull the zombie out of her car after she drove across the whole recreation area and across people’s towels on the sand and into the lake (Story #1), it stuck with me how dicey that kind of maneuver is. The stories of the failed attempts at rescuing these people hit me pretty hard.
And it would suck knowing that if it really came down to it, and someone’s life was on the line, then you still wouldn’t be able to help them. Guy’s probably going to end up doing breath-holding practices. Taking swimming lessons. Talking to a shrink.
4) Breaux Bridge Woman Trying to Recover after Being Attacked by 4 Dogs
‘According to what Pranella Andrus told KLFY TV-10 her sister was attacked by four pit bulls Tuesday night. Pranella says her sister J-Lo was trying to help the man with a medical emergency when the attack happened. J-Lo (given name Bertha) is have to recover [sic] from this vicious attack.’ [Emphasis added]
Peak TROME.
‘According to Pranella her sister was bit six times by the dogs, and she had to have surgery as the meat was ripped from her leg.’ [Emphasis added]
Holy shit.
5) Medical incident causes fatal crash on I-75
‘The Florida Highway Patrol say a 57-year-old Temple Terrace man was killed in a two-vehicle crash in the southbound lanes of I-75, north of I-4 in Hillsborough County, after one of the drivers suffered a medical emergency.

The driver of the car was taken to a nearby hospital and later died. Authorities said the driver and a passenger in the SUV, both of Atlanta, suffered minor injuries.’ [Emphasis added]
6) Man dies after being found on scaffolding of building in Leamington

“Sadly, despite everyone’s best efforts, the man could not be saved and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”’ [Emphasis added]
