Captain (North) America is just the updated version of John Wayne in tights. JW never served 2 minutes in the military, but played the role of a warrior in damn near every iconic unit and war we've had. The military flies over games, and actors salivate to get a shot at playing snipers and explosive experts so that Curtis, Juan and Johnny want to go fight for little girls education, womens right to vote and to take down evil facist gone bad. Then people tire of it and the deaths and we walk away like it never happened. Stand up a couple of gleaming polished symbolic monuments...rinse wash repeat. Too easy. It's never been about entertainment more than social entrainment. If you were to just consider the vast amount of movies/shows you have seen in this lifetime and laid out a number of hours that you've been 'entertained' you might understand how much Hollywood has 'shaped' your view and had a say in every single thing you do. People in tights on roids influencing children and we fund it. Sounds right to me. Cartoon culture for adults. Love the subtle snarky Easter eggs. Appreciate the time you put in on it.
