‘Maxheimer drew his gun in preparation to confront the dogs, but the dogs ran into the woods. He returned to the police station, where he complained of nausea and chest pain. He was admitted to a hospital where he passed away the following day, according to ODMP.’

‘Maxheimer was 39 years old and had served in the Shannon Hills Police Department for three years. He had served in law enforcement for 16 years in many different departments. He is survived by three daughters and his girlfriend, according to his obituary.’

‘Due to the medical emergency, Millers ran off the roadway to the left and struck the guardrail, continued back into travel lanes and struck a 2018 Freightliner tractor-trailer. The vehicle then crossed all lanes of traffic and struck the guard rail on the right, and bounced back into the Freightliner.
After the second time hitting the Freightliner, the Toyota drove off the roadway, struck a ditch and hit several trees.’
Read that again if you have to. It’s… not a typical crash scenario.
‘Miller was taken to Norfolk General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His next of kin has been notified.’

‘The crash happened along Old Statesville Road, near Hucks Road, around 2 p.m. WCNC Charlotte crews saw a school bus that appeared to crash through a fence and drive down an embankment. The emergency door of the bus was left open following the crash.’
‘Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools said the driver of bus 1967 suffered a medical emergency that resulted in a crash. There were 22 students from Croft Community School on board at the time of the wreck. Four students were evaluated for injuries at the request of their parents, but none were taken to the hospital by ambulance, according to a CMS spokesperson.’
