7) Passengers fight for refund after emergency at gate

‘Mumbai: The Indian Coast Guard on Saturday rescued a 49-year-old Chinese national suffering from a stroke combined with hemiplegia from a Panama-flagged ship off the Mumbai coast, the maritime security agency said. Hemiplegia is one-sided muscle paralysis or weakness. It is usually a symptom of a brain-related issue or condition.’
‘The patient along with one attendant was handed over to the vessel’s agent in the city in stable condition for further medical management, it said.’
10) Elderly man rescued from fishing vessel west of Point Loma: US Coast Guard

‘SAN DIEGO — An elderly man in medical distress was rescued from a fishing vessel by air Thursday, west of Point Loma.
According to the U.S. Coast Guard (USGC), officials at the San Diego Sector received a call around 1 p.m. reporting a 79-year-old man onboard a boat called “Legend” had lost consciousness and was displaying signs of a heart attack.’
‘Crews successfully hoisted the patient from the fishing vessel and transported him to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla. His current condition is unknown at this time.’

‘The group of about eight kids were walking to practice after school on Oct. 3 around 2:45 p.m. when a vehicle veered off the road, jumped over the curb and struck two of the students. The driver allegedly was having a medical emergency, according to Chief Operating Officer Andy Burghdorf of St. Francis.’
‘“So, God’s hand was definitely on us, because we were really fortunate that both those students walked away with just minor scrapes,” Burghdorf told the Outlook Valley Sun. “They were both transported to the hospital, but they were released without any major impact.”’
15) Florida City dog attacks woman as she tries to help owner

16) Thurston County bakery smashed after driver crashes through building

‘Yelm Police Department, East Olympia Fire District and Thurston County Medic One responded to a wreck just before noon on Friday, Oct. 13 in which a driver smashed into the Masonry Cafe’s bakery building, located 105 E. Yelm Ave.
According to the Yelm Police Department, the driver was heading eastbound on Yelm Avenue while crossing First Avenue and suffered a medical emergency in which he lost consciousness.
The driver then collided with another vehicle before driving onto the sidewalk near the restaurant and ultimately the building, according to the Yelm Police Department.
The department added there were no serious injuries as a result of the crash.’
