3) Lexington police: wrong-way I-75 driver likely ‘suffering from medical emergency’
Source: weku.org
Now this is a very interesting article. We get a couple comments from AAA about wrong-way accidents.
May 23 — “A stretch of I-75 in Lexington was shut down Sunday night after an 84-year-old man caused a crash by driving the wrong way. That man [died] at the scene […]”
“Police say they believe Mollencop was suffering from a medical emergency.”
A public affairs manager for AAA commented for the article. She said wrong-way crashes are associated with 3 common characterisitcs:
‘“Those include driving without any passengers with you, driving drivers [sic] who are an older age, and impairment.”’
Well, anybody notice an increase in any of those three factors lately? Me neither. Why do I ask? Because she also said this:
“[She] said AAA has studied wrong-way crashes causing fatalities – and they’re happening more often.”
I see.

5) Baby Was Having Medical Emergency Before Deadly Crash on I-75: Attorneys

May 22 — So, there’s tragedy, and then there’s tragedy that turns into disaster. The article is written in the context of the lawsuit underway, so it’s hard to follow from quotes. Here’s what happened: A little 1-year-old baby had a medical emergency in the car, then his mother pulled over, then they were hit by a huge truck, and the little baby died in the accident. The lawsuit arises because the truck was so large it wasn’t supposed to be in the lane it was in, according to the family’s lawyer.
So that happened.
