The Rise of the Medical Emergency Pt. 12, May 28th - 30th
Doctors are baffled
Another youth soccer player dead this weekend. A rising star in Senegal, also 17, like the one that died in Australia on Saturday, died Sunday. A bicyclist died during a race. A French half marathon saw one (or two) heart attacks (articles are translations only), 82 serious medical interventions, and 36 hospitalizations. Another broadcaster died with seizures. Two more car wrecks were caused by medical emergencies. A deputy police officer died during official activities. A 3 year-old was airlifted off of a cruise ship with seizures. And people described their horrific suffering on social media — suffering that kind of has to be seen to be understood.
May 29 — “The prestigious Senegalese club, AS Pikine, is plunged into deep affliction following the tragic death of one of its most promising young players. Cheikh Landing Marone, 17, died this Sunday, May 28, 2023 following an illness that occurred in the middle of a match.
This young player, part of the under-17 team of this renowned club, tragically lost his life this Sunday morning, at theDominica Hospital of pikinafter collapsing on the pitch during a clash against the team ofAlmadies FC.
The valiant 17-year-old midfielder suddenly collapsed at the 40th minute game… never to get up again. Victim of a heart attack […]”
Google news offers no results for this in English as I write this.
May 29 — “A man in his 60s died on Whit Monday while participating in a bicycle race organized by the festival committee of the municipality of Rouffignac-Saint-Cernin-de-Reilhac and the bike club of Trélissac. According to the mayor of Rouffignac, he fell shortly before the finish.”
“According to the mayor, 69-year-old man fell off his bike on the last lap of the 4th category race, downhill, with only 2 kilometers left before the finish line. The other participants saw the man fall on his own. We don’t know why he fell.”
“The cyclist was the president of the cyclo bastide monpaziérois, a club in Monpazier. He is a regular at cycling races.”
The final report of the Red Cross reports 638 interventions for medical care on the route of the 20 kilometers from Brussels this Sunday morning. The majority of them were only necessary for benign concerns (injuries, slight discomfort), but 82 interventions concerned more serious problems, mainly discomfort related to dehydration or heat.
36 people were transferred to hospital, two of whom suffered a heart attack and hypothermia.” [emphasis added]
Well, it was almost 80 degrees, so hypothermia is out of the question. The articles on this are all in French and I’m relying on Google translate for the translations. I can’t tell if this means there was one heart attack or two.
Queen Mathilde was present among the walkers and her son Prince Emmanuel was among the thousands of runners.”
“Queen Mathilde,” lol. Ah, God bless the French. They really got sold short during the “Freedom Fries” days.
30 May — “Celebrated analyst, broadcaster and author Eusebius McKaiser has died after suffering a suspected epileptic seizure, his manager Jackie Strydom told TimesLIVE on Tuesday.
She said he was going about his day without any hint of illness.”
Emphasis on the word “was.”
May 29 — “A 43 year-old Rome man, Jason Samuel Johnson, was killed in a single vehicle accident on Kingston Highway over the weekend.
According to reports, [he] ran the redlight at the loop traveling at a high rate of speed before he crashed into the tree line.
According to Deputy Coroner John Hamilton, it appeared as if Johnson had undergone some type of medical emergency at the time of the crash.
Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene.”
May 30 — “The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office says that a medical emergency caused a crash on I-69 Saturday morning.”
“According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, the driver was identified as 27-year-old Jared Mertz of Columbia City. Mertz was driving his 1993 Ford F-150 pick-up when he began to experience the medical episode.
The truck then veered off the road and struck a cable barrier. The truck did not stop for another 150 yards.” [emphasis added]
“Mertz was taken to a local hospital for treatment. His current condition is unknown.”
May 30 — ‘A sheriff’s deputy in Ohio died after suffering a medical emergency during “police academy activities,” the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputy Marcus Zeigler died on Friday “despite medical efforts,” Hamilton County Sheriff Charmaine McGuffey said.
Zeigler was participating in activities at the police academy when he experienced some kind of medical emergency."‘
Further details have not been released.
May 24 -- “In a news release, the Coast Guard said it was contacted Wednesday about a 3-year-old girl suffering from seizure-like symptoms while aboard the Emerald Princess cruise ship. “
May 29 — “Over the weekend, a man died in a medical emergency on the shoulder of I-90 in Grant County. Troopers were sent to make sure the driver was OK. When they arrived, they [found] 56-year-old Petr S. Pipenko of North Port, Florida, unresponsive.
Troopers performed CPR on Pipenko until air arrived. He was taken to Samaritan Hospital, where WSP says he was pronounced dead.
The cause of the incident is unknown, according to WSP.”
“It is with extreme heartbreak that I announce the sudden passing of my beloved husband, Richard Dion, early Sunday morning at the age of 59. He passed very quickly and we don't know the cause yet. An autopsy is being performed.”
So, these are all mystery conditions to me. This is one of the biggest ignored tragedies of this whole shot pandemic. I can’t even watch these videos. Here, you try:
UPDATE: This one might be fake. It’s a weird write-up and I’ve seen the same write-up elsewhere. I’m leaving this in here for now but I’m thinking it might be garbage. This highlights one of the reasons social media posts can be considered low-tier evidence. On the other hand, direct personal accounts of real-life situations are pretty spectacularly high-tier in many other ways.
This is a damn horror show. He's saying at least some of this came directly from the shot. Other than that, I’m not especially clear what’s going on here.
This is like a horror movie. Be forewarned.

Quotes are from her social media posts. A couple tik-tok videos in this one. Not recommended. Or whatever floats your boat.
Now, I’m not clear with this one either if she was always having these conditions and then they came to a head or what. But she seems surprised by it — not like she was under constant medical supervision, in which case I imagine she would have thanked her parents for their endless support — not for finding her on the bathroom floor.
That’s a wrap. I usually like to tie things together, but today’s reporting was just from everywhere at once.
All the best.
