#1 P!NK Reveals 'Family Medical Emergency' After Postponing More Shows

‘P!nk has revealed the "family medical emergency" that caused her to postpone two of her tour dates earlier this week. On Thursday night (October 19th), the singer took to Instagram to reveal that she has a respiratory infection and it's forcing her to postpone more shows this weekend.’

‘“I am deeply sorry to share that I have a respiratory infection and my doctor has advised that I am unable to perform at the Vancouver shows on Friday and Saturday," P!nk wrote in the statement.’

‘The update comes after P!nk shared with fans on Monday, October 16th, that she would be postponing her shows on Wednesday and Thursday. “Family medical issues require our immediate attention. I send everyone my sincerest apologies for any inconvenience this has caused,” she wrote at the time. “I am sending nothing but love and health to all.”’

#6 Another inmate dies at San Mateo County's Maguire Correctional Facility

‘A 64-year-old man who was being held at the Maguire Correctional Facility in Redwood City has died, the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office said in a statement on Friday, Oct. 20. The death is the third at the facility in a year, according to past reported incidents.’

‘The man was pronounced dead at the jail by the Redwood City Fire Department and EMS. San Mateo County Sheriff’s detectives, the District Attorney’s Office and the Coroner’s Office were notified and are currently conducting an investigation to determine the cause of death, according to the sheriff's office.’

‘Two other inmates have died while in custody at the facility in a year. Last October, correctional officers found Matthew Britton, 34, unresponsive in his cell during a safety check. The sheriff's office said at the time that he likely died of natural causes.

In January, a 25-year-old woman, Maycarla Fernando Sulapas, suffered a medical emergency in the jail's intake and booking section and died at a nearby hospital about three hours later.’

#7 Wait times force 1 in 3 patients to leave Winnipeg's largest ER without seeing doctor: Shared Health

‘According to the data, 13.1 per cent of those seeking medical attention in 2019 left without being seen by a physician.

During the same time period in 2023, that number skyrocketed to 34.1 per cent, meaning nearly one in three patients who presented and were triaged in the emergency room left without being seen by a doctor.

Those same rates worsened significantly at every hospital in Winnipeg over the past five years due to staffing and patient flow.

At St. Boniface Hospital, patients are leaving without seeing a doctor nearly 2.5 times more often than in 2019. At the Grace Hospital, it's happening nearly four times as often.

"This is unprecedented. I actually never dreamed it would be this high. It's a nightmare," said St. Boniface ER physician Dr. Alecs Chochinov said. "If anybody was waiting for the apocalypse to actually make changes, let them know it's here."’

Maybe the, er — apocalypse will wake them up.

Victim of a cardiac arrest upon arriving at Mas Biau (near Saint-André-de-Vézines), shortly before 12:30 p.m., she could not be revived by the emergency services.’

#12 Anfisa Reztsova, three-time Olympic champion, dies
